I don’t know about you, but when I am learning from someone I like to know a little bit about them, how they think, how they operate, their values and why they want to share their knowledge and help me to learn their skill.

So I thought I would begin by telling you a little bit about me and why I decided to help other people create the lifestyle that ‘owning your own online business’ can give you. Well you can see by my photo that I am a Mum to a beautiful little boy called Hunter who is now 4.5 years old. And yes he was the ‘why’ behind my decision to leave the corporate world after 20 years for a better quality of life.

I decided after 12 months maternity leave, that my son deserved to have his Mum looking after him for at least the first 5 years of his life and that there must be another way to earn a living that would allow me to spend quality time with my son.

3 years ago, in an almost ‘law of attraction moment’, my husband and I got invited to a free seminar on ‘creating an online business’. To cut a long story short, I walked out of that lunch with 6 website templates, stars in my eyes and pure excitement about finally finding the solution to my new lifestyle choice….if only it had been that easy. Unfortunately for me, it took me a long time to find trustworthy mentors who had done all the ‘hard yards already’ to teach me how to set up my business the right way. So after 12 months of building websites ‘the wrong way’ and not making a lot of money, I started to find mentors who were willing to teach me ‘the right way’ and it turned my business around. After building a couple of different online businesses, I sat back and thought ‘what do I really want to do?’ What do I love most about internet marketing and how can I add ‘value’ to other people’s experiences in this industry.

Then it just came to me… why not help other people to create their own lifestyle choices by teaching them how to build their own online business without having to go through all the pain, and sharp learning curves that I went through when I first got started. That is how Making Money On Internet Basics was created. A place where people, new to building an online business, can learn step by step, how to build their own internet business.

I know the thought of creating your own internet business can seem daunting at first there is so much to learn. But the key is not to become overwhelmed, just learn each step in ‘bite size chunks’, make a couple of mistakes along the way, fix them and learn from them and then learn some more. It really can be a lot of fun! So basically I have spent the last 3 years learning, implementing and learning some more from my mentors including the likes of Mal Emery, Derek Gehl, Alexandria Brown, Brad Callen, Perry Marshall, Matt & Amanda Clarkson to name a few, whilst spending quality time with my family. I am now ready to crank up my business, because my little boy turns 5 soon and he is off to ‘big school’. I have fulfilled my dream of sharing the first 5 years with him and now I want to help other people create the same opportunity for themselves, no matter what their ‘why’ may be.
