
Cora Spear is a Senior Manager and Agency Lead with over 10 years experience in strategic marketing and technical production across digital platforms. Cora recently set up a new digital creative agency, Wanted Digital with partners Mark Eland and James Furey. As Strategy Director for the new enterprise, Cora believes the agency’s philosophy that high quality thinking leads to high quality design will make the difference for their client’s when it comes to their digital communications.
Starting her career in film & television post production and Corporate Communications, Cora took her technical knowledge and communications experience into the digital world in 2000 as Account Director for Hyro Limited (originally Brainwaave), an international online services company. Working across a diverse range of clients including Canon, The Australian Film Commission, Sydney Olympic Authority, Telstra, Optus and NRMA, Cora developed solutions across all digital mediums that integrated wholly with offline activities.
During her time with the agency, Cora was responsible for leading a major project, a digital entertainment channel called RedKarpet which was part of Telstra's first foray into broadband content development and distribution. This digital entertainment channel, RedKarpet, won an Atom award for innovation in 2002. Cora was promoted to Business Development Director in 2004 and as part of her remit led a sales team of 7 people to develop new and existing clients to meet the agency's growth targets.
In 2005, Cora joined McCann Erickson Relationship Marketing as Business Director on key clients including Microsoft, Mastercard, and L'Oreal. Cora's passion for effective digital marketing saw her move to Singleton Ogilvy Sydney in late 2006 as the agency's Digital Strategy Director working with clients including American Express, IBM, Qantas and Nestle. Whilst at Singleton Ogilvy, Cora was integral in securing new clients Australian Rugby Union, NSW Tourism and Yahoo!7.
Mid 2008 saw Cora take her years of valuable experience and open Wanted Digital with two of Sydney's best digital creative talents. In her new venture, Wanted Digital, Cora also takes on the role of Managing Director and is responsible for developing new business as well as working with existing client to ensure their digital work is the very best it can be.
